Message from the Executive Director
Dear Iowa Able Foundation Colleagues, Partners and Friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new executive director and to express a heartfelt thank you for the noteworthy achievements accomplished under the leadership of my predecessor, Jill Crosser. I am both honored and humbled to have been selected to serve this remarkable organization.
When I was once asked what advice I would give to aspiring youth, I replied, “Find an organization that can ignite your passion about serving others”. Throughout my career, I have used this mantra as a guiding mission statement for making choices connected to my career and volunteer experiences. So how fortunate am I to join a team dedicated to making a difference for Iowans with disabilities, their families, and the aging to achieve and maintain independence through lending, educating and advancing? Very lucky!
During the interview process I learned of the many statewide partnerships including Principal Financial Group, Banker’s Trust, the United Way of Story County, and IPAT (Iowa Program for Assistive Technology) that make it possible to host FREE group classes focused on budgeting, reading credit reports, debt snowballs, and other related financial topics. The recent 2018 “Iowa Able Run” was a huge success thanks to the many volunteers and sponsors. Thank you!
Eleanor Roosevelt is quoted as saying, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. I look forward to meeting each of you who are, who have been or want to be part of believing in making dreams come true.
Please introduce yourself by sending me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by
In service and gratitude,
